HISTORY

The first Global Health and Humanitarian Summit took place April, 2010 at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. The brain child of Neil Shulman, MD, Associate Professor at Emory School of Medicine, the first Summit centered on health and later expanded to humanitarianism in all segments of our society.

Dr Shulman’s vision was to have an event that celebrated and raised awareness of the outstanding accomplishments of ordinary people doing great things here at home and worldwide. The Summit also presented a forum for people to network and share ideas with each other and encourage others to follow in their footsteps.

The Summit events were free for all who attended and for those who presented the work of their organizations. Neil envisioned a movement that would be replicated at universities and other institutions across the nation and worldwide.
